Here is a photo sent in by subscribers Kevin and Kashia of their backyard chicken tractor in Austin, Texas - the new home to 5 colorful six week old pullets! :
A recommended minimum 'house' space would be 2 square feet per chicken. And a minimum of 3 square feet per chicken as 'run' space (the more the better). It is moveable so they can be put onto new ground every now and then which also helps when there is not loads of space.
Hi Guys & Gals, Poultry netting (chicken wire) will not hold up to predators. If you're in an urban/suburban setting it may be okay. Matter of fact, I've known raccoons to tear apart 1" x 2" welded wire fencing.

This looks so cool! Is it actually enough space for them to spend most of their time? I want to build something for three chickens.
